On September 4, the event "Standards Lead Quality, Certification Powers Upgrade" — a special session on Shenzhen Standard Certification for the gold and jewelry industry — was held under the guidance of the Shenzhen Market Regulation Administration, co-organized by the Luohu Branch and the Shenzhen Standard Certification Alliance. Gemhorn Jewelry, as a certified enterprise of Shenzhen Standard Certification, a National High-Tech Enterprise, and a Shenzhen Specialized, Refined, Unique, and New SME, was invited to participate and share insights.

The event brought together government agencies, inspection and certification bodies, industry associations, and certified enterprises for in-depth discussions on standardization and smart manufacturing in the gold and jewelry sector. Zhou Peng, Director of Gemhorn’s General Office, delivered a keynote speech titled "Smart Manufacturing and Standardization in the Jewelry Industry," systematically introducing Gemhorn’s achievements and experience in building standardized systems and advancing intelligent jewelry manufacturing.

With over 20 years of expertise in jewelry manufacturing, Gemhorn has consistently adhered to its mission of "leading jewelry manufacturing through innovation and shaping the industry’s future with smart production." The company continues to introduce advanced automated and intelligent equipment, leveraging its R&D center for secondary development and upgrades to drive product innovation. Gemhorn has established the industry’s largest, most diverse, and most efficient machine-woven chain production line. It also led the drafting of the group standard for "Precious Metal Machine-Woven Chain Jewelry," which forms the core of Shenzhen Standard Certification’s "Machine-Woven Chain Jewelry" certification rules.

On smart manufacturing practices, Zhou highlighted Gemhorn’s recent Level 3 Smart Manufacturing Capability Maturity Certification, obtained in August based on the national standard (GB/T39116-2020). This authoritative certification covers four capabilities — personnel, technology, resources, and manufacturing — across 12 subdomains, demonstrating Gemhorn’s strength in intelligent jewelry production. He also shared case studies of Gemhorn’s self-developed equipment, such as the intelligent wire drawing machine (Patent No.: ZL202122707115.2), automated chain collection machine (Patent No.: ZL201911329634.0), intelligent engraving machine (Patent No.: ZL202120573204.X), and CNC production line upgrades, illustrating how automation and smart technology address production challenges and enhance efficiency. He emphasized, "Standardization is the foundation of smart manufacturing, and talent is the base of both. Jewelry enterprises must focus on cultivating, reserving, and transforming talent to jointly drive industry innovation."

Zhou noted, "There is still room for improvement in industry standardization for smart manufacturing, requiring joint efforts across the supply chain." He called on peers to actively participate in Shenzhen Standard Certification to use evaluation to drive development and enhance their standardization frameworks.

This event provided a high-level exchange platform for the industry. Gemhorn will continue to deepen innovation in smart manufacturing, strengthen standardization leadership, and collaborate with industry partners to promote high-quality development in China’s gold and jewelry sector.
