To effectively strengthen enterprise safety production management and further improve employees' fire safety awareness and emergency self-rescue capabilities, the Lilang Branch of Gemhorn Jewelry carried out the first 2022 fire drill on the morning of November 7, with all employees of the Plain Gold Factory participating.
Unlike conventional drills with prior notice and designated leaders organizing evacuations, this drill conducted emergency evacuations without prior warning, maximizing the simulation of the suddenness of a "fire accident" and testing employees' self-rescue and mutual-aid capabilities in emergency situations.
The drill consisted of five stages: emergency occurrence, safe evacuation, emergency assembly, fire safety knowledge training, and practical operation. It simulated a scenario where a short circuit in the sample-making department ignited surrounding combustibles, causing employee injuries.
At 8:30 AM, the factory's fire alarm sounded. The volunteer fire brigade and medical personnel rushed to the fire scene, quickly assessed and treated the injured, and assisted with employee evacuations. Department supervisors actively organized employees to cover their mouths and noses, crouch low, and quickly evacuate to a safe area via the east and west stairwells on the sixth floor, following safety exit signs. The entire drill was standardized and orderly, with all personnel evacuated in just 1 minute and 20 seconds.

Subsequently, employees participated in practical fire-fighting exercises individually or in groups. Facing blazing fires, they remained calm and used fire extinguishers to put out burning gas cylinders in an orderly manner.

At the end of the event, Cai Weidong, Deputy General Manager and Factory Director of the Plain Gold Factory, stated, "Fire safety is no trivial matter; drills are real-life practice. I hope everyone will remember what they have learned, strictly follow safety production requirements in daily work, resolutely prevent fire accidents, and fully safeguard personnel lives and company property."
Through practical drills, potential fires are prevented. This month, Gemhorn will continue to organize fire drills in each factory to build a solid safety production defense line through practical actions!
